Huiyuan Cowins Technology Group and its subsidiaries have long been dedicated to public welfare and actively engaged in ESG initiatives. On 15 November 2025, our Chairman, Dr. Perry YK Ip (葉仁傑博士), proudly served as Chairman of the Panel of Judges for the Hong Kong Undergraduate Financial Planners of the Year Award (UFP Award). The UFP Award is an annual competition organized by the Society of Registered Financial Planners (HKRFP) to promote financial planning awareness and professionalism among university students. It is widely recognized as one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious student competitions in the finance sector, offering both educational and career development opportunities.


The theme of this year’s competition theme - “Integrating Energy Efficiency into Core Financial Strategies”—was both timely and transformative. The event underscored how embedding energy efficiency into financial planning can advance sustainable development goals while enhancing wealth management outcomes. By quantifying the cost savings and risk mitigation benefits of energy-efficient measures, the organizers promoted the integration of ESG principles into financial strategies.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Ip delivered an inspiring address:

This year’s final round topic - “Integrating Energy Efficiency as a Core Financial Strategy”—is both timely and transformative. It challenges our finalists to move beyond conventional financial planning and embrace a multidimensional approach where sustainability is not a peripheral concern, but a strategic pillar. In a world shaped by climate risk, regulatory shifts, and evolving client values, energy efficiency is no longer just a “green” choice—it is a measurable, financially sound decision.
We asked our finalists to quantify sustainability, simulate cost-benefit scenarios, and align energy-saving strategies with long-term wealth accumulation and risk mitigation. From residential retrofits to commercial smart systems, from green mortgages to carbon pricing exposure, they were tasked with integrating technical metrics, behavioral finance, and lifecycle planning into a cohesive financial blueprint.
And they delivered.
The presentations we witnessed today were not only technically rigorous, but also visionary. They demonstrated how financial planners can be catalysts for change—helping clients preserve capital, optimize cash flow, and future-proof their portfolios through energy-conscious decisions. This is the kind of leadership our industry needs.
