Shanghai-Karamay Collaboration Writes a New Chapter: Shanghai Zhongnong Mayer Signs Contract for Karamay Carbon and Agricultural Demonstration Park Project
2026-03-25
On March 18, the Xinjiang Karamay (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Conference themed "Shanghai-Karamay Collaboration, Jointly Forging a Blueprint" was grandly held in Shanghai. This industrial matchmaking event spanning more than 4,000 kilometers has built an important platform for the two regions to complement each other's advantages and achieve win-win cooperation. As a key strategic layout platform of Guangzhou Mayer in the integration of new energy and modern agriculture in Shanghai, Shanghai Zhongnong Mayer Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has been committed to the application and promotion of low-carbon technologies such as phase change energy storage in agriculture and related industries since its establishment, and continuously explored new paths for the coordinated development of green energy and modern agriculture. Zhang Yana, General Manager of the company, was invited to attend the conference and on behalf of the company, successfully signed the contract for the Karamay Zhongnong Mayer Carbon and Agricultural Demonstration Park Project with relevant departments of Karamay City. This project has become one of the 27 key projects signed collectively at the conference, adding a new model of cooperation for Shanghai and Karamay in the integration of new energy and modern agriculture.

The newly signed Agricultural Demonstration Park Project, a joint project by Shanghai Zhongnong Mayer and Carbon and Technology, has a total investment of 45 million yuan and is located in the Karamay Cloud Computing Industrial Park. Relying on the local abundant computing power resources and superior industrial supporting facilities, the project carries out waste heat recovery and utilization through phase change energy storage technology, and will become the first waste heat recovery project for liquid-cooled data centers, providing stable and clean heat source support for facility agriculture. The project will be constructed in two phases: Phase I will build a 1,000-square-meter tomato production greenhouse, a 3,000-square-meter Phalaenopsis production greenhouse and supporting facilities; Phase II will expand the construction of office buildings, dormitory buildings, exhibition greenhouses, as well as strawberry and leafy vegetable production greenhouses and aquaculture workshops.

Through independently developed phase change energy storage materials, the project can realize the efficient storage and precise release of waste heat resources, which not only solves the problem of thermal pollution in data centers but also reduces energy consumption in agricultural production. It is expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions caused by traditional coal-fired heating and maximize energy utilization efficiency.

According to estimates, during the operation period of the project, while achieving good economic benefits, it will also provide stable employment opportunities for the local area, improve the supply rate of high-end "vegetable basket" products, and support the construction of Karamay as a national carbon peaking pilot zone. The total investment of the 27 key projects signed this time reaches 23.914 billion yuan, covering various fields such as petrochemical industry, new energy and digital economy. The implementation of the Carbon and Agricultural Demonstration Park Project will further enrich the connotation of industrial cooperation between Shanghai and Karamay, and inject new momentum into the construction of a "one main body, multiple sectors" modern industrial system for the two regions.

Taking this contract signing as an opportunity, Shanghai Zhongnong Mayer will accelerate the project construction progress, deepen the application of phase change energy storage technology in the agricultural field, and contribute innovative strength to Karamay taking the lead in realizing socialist modernization in the whole of Xinjiang.

A Delegation from Karamay Digital Development Bureau Visits Guangzhou Mayer for Inspection and Research

On March 22, a delegation from the Digital Development Bureau of Karamay City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, led by Dai Zhenkun, Party Secretary and Director, visited Guangzhou Mayer for inspection. The delegation made an on-site visit to Mayer's exhibition hall and production workshops, gained an in-depth understanding of the company's development, spoke highly of the innovative achievements of Mayer Energy Storage, and recognized the forward-looking nature of the Agricultural Demonstration Park Project.

During the inspection, the two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on matters such as energy storage technology R&D, industrial layout and project implementation preparations, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent project advancement and industrial collaboration, and also pushing the Shanghai-Karamay collaboration into a new stage from contract signing to practical implementation.
